Tactions
The TSAS system maps various spatial and communication tasks onto a tactile display.
To aid in system development, integration and standardization, EAI has developed a
tactor activation software layer, which we have termed a “TAction”. This approach
facilitates scalable and reusable code for tactile symbology, allowing avionics
integrators to concentrate on the avionics and systems development, and to simply call
a predetermined (authored by EAI, NAVAIR, AARML or others) tactile symbology, or to
author their own symbology (using the A-TAC™ TAction Writer) that are appropriate to
the information to be provided.
DEVELOPMENT AND SIMULATION TOOLS
EAI has also developed a TSAS test bed, integrated with a flight simulation tool, for the
development and demonstration of TActions in the TSAS application.
